My Role

As the designer and researcher of Little Ledger, my role centers on exploring how people manage and express their identities across both physical and digital spaces. I conducted research on existing ID tools, gathered user perspectives, and developed a system that feels secure yet personal. From creating the dual-profile concept to designing how users switch between different identity modes, I focused on building a flexible, intuitive experience that helps people navigate the complexity of modern identity.

The Challenges

Designing Little Ledger came with challenges like balancing usability with security, and simplifying identity management without making it feel impersonal or sterile. One of the biggest obstacles was finding a way to let users store both official documents and digital profiles in one space while keeping control and trust at the core. I also had to consider the emotional aspect of how people represent themselves online and create a design that feels supportive, not overwhelming.

The Problem

In our connected world, people often juggle multiple identities—physical documents like passports or student IDs, and digital identities like social media handles, email accounts, or even anonymous profiles. However, most apps only help with one type of identity. There’s a real gap in tools that acknowledge the full spectrum of who we are, especially when these identities are scattered across platforms, languages, and time zones. This can lead to confusion, disorganization, and even emotional detachment from one’s own online presence.

The Solution

Little Ledger addresses this problem by offering a unified, human-centered platform that allows users to organize and access all their IDs—whether physical or digital—in one place. With features like a dual-profile system and customizable identity groupings (e.g., professional, creative, private), the app helps users take control of their personal information and how they present themselves. By combining security, clarity, and emotional awareness, Little Ledger becomes not just a tool, but a thoughtful companion in managing the many selves we carry through life.
