Hi, I am so glad you are here! My name is Joy Zhan, a growing designer who is dedicated to contribute creativity and inspiration to the world. This is the space where I display my work and ideas - covering UX design, graphic design, illustration, and video production.
I have been a “designer” since elementary school. I put together gaming videos as a kid, I build original characters as an adolescent, and now, I build worlds as an adult. I started systematically learning about design in 2024 in Pierce College, pursuing my Associates in Arts, along with my UX/UI certificate. Not only have I designed as a student, I have also been designing actively for school and personal projects.
I come from a beautiful coastal city - Xiamen, China. This passionate and romantic city invited me to jump on the endless inspiration. I love the sea, the breeze, the streets, the lights, the food, and the people. I incorporate the subtle style of the city into my design, which speaks the loudest, forming the most earnest waves, yet progressing in the most calming and gentle way.
Despite sounding cursory, I like to dream about “unrealistic” goals. I’ve been searching for my life missions, it’s a long-lasting process, and I would probably never come to a confirmation. However, I find myself truly enjoy the creative nature of the world, and seeing the connection between us, the citizens and members of this global village, and the communities we interact with. I aim to create work that helps people to see and understand how their stories can unfold other people’s stories in various art forms.
In the future, I want to take on more UX/UI projects, designing websites and apps that improve everyday experiences. I also would like to have more experience in doing graphic design, especially creating things that are both functional and visually appealing. I want to especially dive deeper into exploring the way people interact with food services - whether through digital experiences or physical branding. I want to design intuitive products that enhance the customer journey, and I want to provide my customers a seamless, and stress-free experience. I am eager to put our ideas come to life, make them compelling, make them loud, make them tell a story. I want to design things that capture a brand's identity, that leaves a unique impression, that is consisted of elements all around you and it all ties back to your most own idea.
